I know, I know, everyone is DYING to know if we made it to carnival and if I've overcome my twerking handicap. No and NO. Carnival went very well, I saw many pictures and heard that it was fabulous and hot. "Sicky Magee" aka Scarlett was just getting better and we thought it was a bad idea to put her in the hot oven of Main Street to see a 9 hour parade. Yes, it is much more than a parade, but still.
We made it to the fireworks, which at that point would have been fabulous, but then we ran into our neighbors who were hanging on a BEAUTIFUL 50 ft Sailboat, and were kind enough to let us come aboard and enjoy, which turned it into AMAZING! I've never met a firework that I have not loved, nor a ridiculously luxurious boat for that matter.
This weekend probably was in my top ten, yes, I am a "rater", whatever. We woke up, I made breakfast, Scarlett and Jason hopped in the pool, we ate poolside for breakfast and lunch, and I finished a book, not writing one, shhhh.
Then we went to Yacht Haven for dinner at Grand Cru, their food is amazing and they are sporting a brand new menu, but most of all they have the best service, there is a server there that if he is working, we are eating.
I love that kind of service, and around here, it is few and far between. We then played and played and that is when we went and watched the fireworks on an amazing boat, with amazing people, Saturday was awesome.
Sunday was very similar, except I drew by the pool while they played, then we went to one of Scarlett's friends birthday parties, which was at one of our favorite spots and got to see a bunch of REALLY cool people and their awesome children. We left the birthday party earlier than we would have liked to be able to prepare for a dinner party at our house with our neighbors from both sides, and my new friend Nina, whom I loved immediately.
Have I mentioned I love our neighbors enough times? I cannot help it, they are so freaking awesome.
Most of us got drunk, which makes us cool, obviously.
I am sad that I missed carnival, but I have a good feeling that there is many many many to come.
